Safety and Efficacy
Safety : Acute oral LD50 toxicity study of test drug WH-1 conducted on rats showed no treatment related toxic signs and symptoms. The study was conducted as per OECD guidelines. The raw materials and finished product have been tested for heavy metals and microbial contents. Another study to prove the safety of the drug where Kidney Function Test and Liver Function Test are conducted before treatment and after treatment with test drug is under way. In the clinical trails there was no adverse action on any patient.
Efficacy : A clinical trial on 36 patients conducted by Department of Pharmacy Practice, Al-Ameen college of Pharmacy Bangalore found that 83% of patients of vaginitis were cured with the test drug.( Click here for Research paper ) The duration of complaint varied from 4 days to 8 years. Most of them had received some modern treatment without any relief before they were recruited for the trial. 69% were cured with the very first course of treatment and 14% after another course of treatment. The treatment course is only 10 days. Dosage is one capsule three times a day. The sexual partner is also treated concurrently.
